I notice KW scooping up quite a few RE/MAX agents. They are just getting ready to open an office in my market area too.

    Good luck Brandon

I would like to know why you changed brokers. I am actually thinking about changing brokers too and the reasons are leads and mentoring. I've been with c21 for 4 years and it's a tough decision. By the way, Congrats on the change!

I think it is less about the Franchise and more about the broker...(said this many times before as well...)

Congrats on your decision to change and let us know how it goes!

That is awesome they let you keep your listings. It doesn't always go down like that. KW is getting some top RE/MAX agents to make the switch here too.

From what I remember that was a franchise policy -- am I correct?

Actually, it I beleive it depends broker to broker and area to area (read: I don't think there is a franchise wide edict on this--but I could be wrong). I personally think it is kind of chicken crap to hold someone hostage by their listings. While it is true that "technically", they belong to the brokerage, in reality more often than not, the listing feels a STRONG connection to the agent.

I think it is kind of a "scorched earth" tactic...and I for one and not in favor of that. If agents don't WANT to be at your brokerage, you don't want them there.

I feel the same way about employees. If you aren't loyal and a part of the team, show your butt to the door...TODAY. Agents are independant contractors and I think being heavy handed about listings isn't cool in today's world.
