    Default Team Building

I hope everyone is having a great weekend. I wanted to start this thread to gather any ideas that may be out there that I haven't thought of already. I would like to begin building a team in the early Spring.

I will be the main listing agent, but I am looking to bring on my first Buyer's Agent. First of all, I am not sure if I want to bring on buyer's agent or an assistant first. Buyer's agent would make sense at first, but if I get an assistant, I would have more time to work the buyer's while the assistant does the paperwork, sets up showing appointments, schedules appointments, etc.

What do you think and why? Do you think that it would be more benficial to hire the assistant or the Buyer's Agent First.

Starting a team at the beginning was more difficult than I first thought it would be. I will say this much - a top notch assistant is absolutely critical to building a team. That person will free up a huge amount of time - time which you can then spend generating new business. When I hired my first assistant it created a HUGE jump in my own personal productivity.

I would get the assistant in place first. There are hundreds of agents around that would jump at the chance to work your extra leads. If you have the assistant in place that also provides some of the administrative support needed for that Buyers agent to produce without putting a significant drain on your time dealing with their backend issues.

JMO... in all markets, someone has to list the properties, (i.e. respresent the seller) and someone has to represent the buyers. In a buyer's market, unless you have tons of listings, I think that you might want to think heavily on bringing in a buyer's agent partner first.
