I didn't want to hijack another thread on the best ways to structure your website with sellers in mind, but what do you guys think of this idea?
I'm not sure exactly how REW sites work yet, but I assume that when a visitor looking for homes, registers to view IDX listings, they usually search for properties by specifying their criteria. I assume that criteria is saved in the database. What if there was a "Match Making" section on the website, that would display the actual criteria of the person who registered, without providing any other information. The section would be broken down into different cities.
Here's an example.
Someone registered on the website and specified the following criteria:
"Single family home in Newtown City with at least 4 bedrooms and a swimming pool in the $500,000 to $700,000 price range."
There would be a page on the site for a Newtown City. The page would be SEO'd for that city. The page would describe the city, show some listings and also, display the criterias for the sellers. If the seller stumbles on to that page, they can see if their house matches one of the criterias.
I think it would be very beneficial for sellers, since they know that the website is trying to match their property with buyer's criterias.
So I'm envisioning something like this. I'm a seller who's thinking of selling my house in Newtown City. I search for 'selling a house in Newtown City'. The page comes up and displays information about the city, some listings for buyers and buyer's criterias for sellers. Of course there would be other tools on that page for sellers such as requesting a CMA, market stats, etc., but I think if I'm a seller, I would like to see if someone is actually looking for a property like mine.
What do you guys think? Would it be helpful for sellers? Would it provide some benefit from a SEO prespective? Is it even possible to accomplish something like this on a custom REW site and how much effort would it take?
Sorry for the long post, but a light bulb went on after I read the other thread.
