    Default search registration

I just notice that if someone wants to view property details from a snippet result, they can.
But If they want to view details from their own property search, or map search, they need to register first. Can we turn that off for now.

I am still using my old idx for the search page. but I have been like a madman making snippets and results pages.

I have the same issue with my site, the snippets don't require registration. Two examples are the one on the 'summerville' area page, and the various neighborhood snippets I have set up on the 'north augusta' area page.

Don't want to step on greg's toes with his issues, but I didn't want to start a whole new thread, either.

Please fix. I was wondering how new visitors could look at so many pages without registering. ;-) (site is www.northofthesavannah.com)

Hey Lydia, looks like we killed 2 birds with one stone since we wanted the opposite things, and it seems as if we both got what we wanted.

Any idea how i link my IDX onto my search page?

oops, i spoke too soon, and didn't check the summerville page. It seems like the Augusta page works like you want it too, and that's the one i looked at. how peculiar.

    Hi Greg and Lydia,

Greg - Sorry - I missed this thread today - I'll get the registration turned off for you first thing in AM.
Should a map show up on the property details page?
There should be a link to a map from the details pages.
Any idea how i link my IDX onto my search page?
You can create a "Main Nav Link" then add the link to the page
    http://www.youragentgreg.com/idx/
I suggest that we add a link to it from the Main nav( Across the top)
We'd have to change one of the links - or stick it under the buyers links.

To link to the IDX search page from a content page the HTML would be

    Code:
    <a href="/idx/">Search MLS</a>

Lydia: We'll get that fixed for you asap.

    Thank you,
    Aaron

    Aaron:

i think my registration (or lack thereof ) is fine now.

there doesn't appear to be a link to a map on the details page. I thought perhaps there would be an actual map. i have been wrong before.

regarding linking to the search page: I thought i could have some text on the page as i currently do.

Looks like you don't have to register for anything now?

I want to require registration to view any details of a home, whether through the home search, OR a snippet.

    Hi Aaron:

I do have a Main Nav Link for a home search as a side button(which currenty links to a page with my old framed idx). Rather than delete that Nav Link, and replace it with a new one, i thought i could just change what it linked to. In addition, i was wanting to keep my paragraph of text on the page.

I like your idea of adding the 'search' as a Main Nav link at the top of the page. I guess i could dump the 'about me' link, as i can put that elsewhere. what do you think?

Do i have the capability to do a page like this
    http://www.youragentgreg. com/email-updates.php ?

    thank you

With my site, I think people have to register to save a search or 'add to favorites', get email updates. I'm not sure if it will work, but (at least for now) I want people to give me their info when they are ready.

    Maybe i will learn otherwise.
