    Default Google Trends API Coming

Just got wind of a very interesting new programming API from Google called the Google Trends API.

This looks like it is great news as it provides developers with even more tools to optimized their webpages for search traffic. This API appears to be based off of the Google Trends program, but because I am unfamiliar with it, I was hoping people on the forums might be able to shed some light on how they might use it in their SEO and what you think of this development in general.

    A few tidbits:
Google Trends allows people to see trends in searches. You can compare specific searches, see how the search volume for search terms changes over time with interactive graphs, and even see the top 100 searches for any given day. You can also see how spikes and drops in searches are linked to news and blog items.

That is really informative. I haven't used this yet, but I will take a look at the features and the charts are interesting. Thanks for sharing.

I think if you could create a feature of your site to track stats on the real-time search hits after you publish a new blog post, article, or other feature to your site, this would open up great possibilities for experimenting and optimizing your website.
