    Default Submission Software

I have read that manual submissions to search engines are better than those done by software.

If this is true then what search engines do I submit to?

I am thinking Google, Yahoo, MSN, AOL, AltaVista, Lycos, DMOZ, and Teoma. Should I submit to others? Any suggestions when I submit?

definitely go manual. Sounds like you got it covered. Seems like all the other little ones find my site anyway.

Does any submit to all the little obscure search engines on purpose

Once you get the site indexed it's time to start building some incoming links.
Make sure to post in the link exchange forum after you get the site indexed

As many Relevent links as you can get. That's one of those things that is an ongoing and neverending part of building your site. This forum currently has many thousands and I can't even count high enough to tell you how many Morgan has to stay on top for seo in the serps

Can't plug this tool enough. http://www.mcdar.net/KeywordTool/keywordtool.asp

Enter your URL and a keyword to see how many BL's and links with those keywords in the anchor text your competition has. That will give you a starting point.

    Default Not ranked, why?

I used that tool you just suggested. That is a fantastic tool.

Could you tell me why Yahoo and Google have only 1 page listed for www.utah-real-estate.org for the keyword Utah Real Estate?

I have spent the last month creating content pages and I have over 2,000 pages on this website. I have followed as much of the advice from SEO-Guy as I could (thank goodness he is around) and it still is not ranked.

    What am I doing wrong?

Ok, let's see. Checking google's cache of www.utah-real-estate.org, there is only one page in the google index. Go to google and enter site:www.utah-real-estate.org you will see all of the pages for that domain that G has indexed. It appears their cache of your home page is old, and was crawled when you registered the domain and had no content up.

Do you have any inbound links to your site from other domains that are in the G index? <edit> Duh, I answered my own question when I sent you to McDar's tool. You have no back links to your site from pages indexed by G. That is your next goal. Work on getting links from other relevant sites to your website</edit>

Also, how long has this site been up?

    Hi there,

First question, How long has the site been online?

Second, Have you started getting any backlinks yet?

When I checked Google I did not see any.

Also, you might want to talk with Morgan regarding the size of your homepage and the number of links on it.

    Jim
