Number of Search Results Returned

For Atlanta real estate, you would typically see somewhere around 20,0000 search results returned. As of the update where I went from #2 to #3, that same result is now showing only about 400,000 results returned. I haven't founds anything online as to what they have done, but, it's been that we for about a week.

Anyone have any more infom on this?

Not sure why but it's doing the same thing for charlotte real estate. Typically, shows about 14,000.....now around 200,000. Can't tell you why but can confirm for this market.

Did you surround it in quotes? In my city, as you go through the pages some of the results are for "city" and some are for "real estate", but not all for "city real estate".

The number of google search results has dropped dramatically for our area. (I had even emailed Eric about it earlier this morning.)

Its currently showing in the 10% - 40% range (depending on the search) of the total number of sites compared to what it was previously.

My main keyword results were at 600K two weeks ago, dropped to 400K a week ago, now has dropped to 66K this week. My guess was that with the PR drop many sites were losing pages but 1/10th the amount of results?

This happened last week at the same time I dropped from #2 to #3. I noticed it that day. I think they are just pulling more relevant results and have dropped the rest. I'm also inclined to think the change also included increasing weight on incoming link age. Not sure about that though.

Same thing is happening in my area. Usually, for 'bucks county real estate' I get about 1.9M results back. Recently, it has been around 240,000.

It's actually very interesting. I just did a search and it returned 198,000 records. When I clicked on the link to go to the second page, the counter is showing 199,000 records. Every page after that is still at 199,000 pages. Only the first page is showing a lower number of results. Weird.
