Top or near top in yahoo and altavista - way down in google. After 3 months.

My website is up for about 3 months now. Thw highest I'm at in google is around 30 for 'property in nice france'. but I just checked yahoo and I'm top or number 2 for most of my targeted phrases.

Do you think I'm in the google sandbox? If yes, that must mean I'll eventually be ranked quite high with google.

Or should I just count myself as lucky?

If you're in position #30 for keyword in google, I would say you're not in the sandbox, esp if website is only 3 months old. Just give it some time and work on SEO for targeted keywords and rankings should improve in Google.

With my experience, most keywords I targeted ranked much better and faster with yahoo initially as well.

Google is the hardest to rank for. Heck, I just came on doing SEO for a Realtor, I made a few minor ON SITE changes just to test, only 120 in Google, but came from non existent to #3 on Yahoo and Alta Vista and in the top 10 for MSN. This is just a few onsite changes that took me about 10 minutes.

It takes time with Google as Dall Broker said. Be patient be consistent. One thing I will advise you is not have your backlinks build too quickly, why? Well because if you haven't had any links or only a few, then in a relatively short period of time you have a link explosion, Google will know something is up and flag the site for link spamming. It just doesn't look natural, and Google will treat it as such and filter your site. Just be careful and hang in there. 3 months is not long at all to rank well in Google, and just as with my last tip, you wouldn't want to be to the top of Google that quick, trust me. A gradual and consistent move up the rankings will yield the best LONG TERM results.
