Is this thread still about investment? Cause I have lots of input!

Understanding "why" not to have a job:
Rich Dad Poor Dad, by Kiyosaki. Don't bother with the rest of his stuff, it's mostly re-hashing this one book.
Flipping houses:
Bill Bronchick: Flipping Properties
Steve Cook: Wholesaling for Quick Cash
Rehabbing:
Kevin Myers: Buy it, Fix it, Sell it Profit!
Asset Protection:
Nobody beats Dyches Boddiford. Anyone that can quote IRS code in a standard conversation is awesome. He's my hero!
Websites:
thecreativeinvestor.com is good, but you need to be careful, because there are as many pro's as there are posers.
DealmakersCafe.com is awesome, but less people, and most work in real estate (not in front of a compuuter) so slower response time. The forums and forum archives are great places to get a basic knowledge of REI.
Others:
No review of mine would be complete without my favorite of all time. Most investing courses tell you to do the juicy stuff, and ignore the nitty-gritty... Well, I like the nitty gritty, and I found a book that spells it out... "Hidden Secrets of a Real Estate Technician" by Bryan Wittenmyer. It has all the stuff you wanted to know, but didn't know where to look... Like how to do a title search, and why you don't really need title insurance (for some deals).
The best course to get started is "Alternative Real Estate Financing" by Bill Bronchick. I listened to that over and over again, and I don't regret a second of it.
Right behind that, I would recommend "Mr. Preforeclosure" It's real pricey, but his systems work.
For Luxury homes, I went to Marco Kozlowski's bootcamp. I don't regret it, but I feel cheated... The basic gist of it was "luxury homes aren't any harder than regular homes".
For Apartments, Dave Lindahl has the best stuff. I went to his apartment houses course, and it has EVERYTHING you need to buy apartment buildings.
For getting money without a bank, hit the Private Money Bootcamp. I went to that this year, and it was great. I think they're gonna do another one this fall.
When you get done with this list, let me know, and I can get you some more!
Disclaimer: I do website work for Dyches at assets101.com and for Matt at Dealmakerscafe.com. But I would recommend them if I didn't!
Thanks for the info CafeMonkey.![]()
Oh... It seems that everyone is writing a book on Real Estate Investing these days. I recommend that you get a recommendation before spending your money on a course off an ad or mini-marketing site.
I use http://www. realestatecoursereviews.com/ to see what other people think. As always, take comments with a grain of salt... Some people give crappy reviews over a few mispellings!
I thought about buying a book on "How to start investing in Real Estate" There are so many books out there, I just don't want to get any type of book, thanks for all your help.
Exactly. I just started studying RE and thank goodness that I am still in college.
