    Default How To Get Articles?

Hello...I'm not a writer, but I have a project that I'm working on where I'm going to create a real estate article database. How do I get submissions and where can I get a bunch of articles to fill the database? Any help is appreciated.

    Thank you in advance.

Do you have the site up yet? You could begin by putting the URL in your signature and networking around here.

I think Eric has the right idea with this starting out. You are going to want to network as much as possible. I would think that you are going to want someone that has experience and industry knowledge with these articles, and the only way to do that is to get to know the people that are going to be writing these for you, or referring these articles to you.

What is your focus going to be with the database?

The suggestions the other members have made are great for getting new submissions.

If you're looking to pre-fill your database I'd talk to a site like http://www.ezinearticles.com or similar to see if you can use their RSS feed. That will give you a number of existing articles when you start. http://www.goarticles.com also allow this. In all cases though please make sure you provide correct credit and follow their publisher guidelines.

As Estate Real Estate stated (wow, say that 5 times fast), ezinearticles.com and goarticles.com are pretty much the two largest article databases that I know of. There are a couple other pretty good ones as well, which I thought I would throw out in the open. They are searchwarp.com, articledashboard.com and articlecity.com.

Also, I am not sure if you have your site created yet, but I know that there are scripts for sale that are pre-built article-submission sites. I can't tell you off hand where you can get them, but I do remember seeing them a while back. If you don't already have it developed, it may be worth the time to do a quick Google search to see what you can find...

Getting articles from free directory site is a great idea. It's a nice way to start your article repository site. Your site will get indexed easily since you are already filling your site with contents.

However, free articles won't look great on your site on the long haul. If your visitors see your site as merely an RSS feed gatherer, they'll instead visit the sites where you are getting your articles from. They will leave your site and may never be back thinking that you don't have anything new to offer.

One tip I can give you is start off with articles from article directories while you are still in the stage of collecting original and unique contents for your site. Spend a month or two posting articles from ezinearticles or go articles to allow Google bots to crawl into your site and index the pages. And while you are on that, invite real estate webmasters to post original articles in your site. Submit invite yourself, if you can. You can also invite other webmasters through forums (such as REW) or post ads on Craigslist.

The question now is, how can you persuade webmasters to post their original articles on your site? Having their byline and a link is a good come-on. The other, offer them a free page where they can advertise their products or services. You may offer this freebie (a free page) for a limited time or for life, if you are getting generous
