Relo- Experts a Must Read

I dont know how many of you link with Relo-Experts but those that do may want to reconsider removing that link.

A while back within our relocation partner group the owner of that website relo-experts ( Jay) started stiring up some stuff with the other members. Every member in the relocation partners removed his links and caught him in several lies. I am sure some of those partners can relay their reasons.

Anyway the site owner whos name is Jay was questioned on some of his statements he made and was caught lieing. I was one of the people who really really questioned his ethics and morals..plus his web knowledge about link exchange.

He started a big rumor that G was looking into this partner group for exchanging links together but only after the other partners removed his link and this started a snowball effect that cause some of the partners to remove links based on what relo-experts said.

There were several post on other forums bashing ...myself and some of the other members..of course we all responed to those post and it seems now Jay of Relo-Experts has choosen to put a site up under one of the user names I had on the advanced access forum named BillyBob that in my opinion is quite slanderous since he knows who BillyBob is. http://www.relo-experts.com/agents/U...nta/index.html

My point being would anyone want to link with someone that if you dont agree with him he will throw up a site that one he will try to get ranked so that it will effect your website and try to take position from you and 2.try to slander you with obseen remarks.

Relo-experts has told other realtors that they have certain cities in his site and then when they rub him the wrong way because they dont want to link back to him he throws one of their competitors in that spot. Is this someone to do business with..I would say make up your own mind.

Before this person of relo-experts was in the relocation referral group he had no position and no PR..now as he cons others to link to him he is gaining position and PR and moving up in the serps for those cities that link to him on the homepage

The other main reason not to link with him is for sites that have good ranking and link with him he is trying to pass and maybe will pass your site for your search phrases that really are meant for an agent website not a directory.

I believe there are a few others on this forum that have had experience with this Jay and relo-experts that can give their opinons as well. I personally say if you are linked with him REMOVE it but make your own mind up.

I don't know who relo - whoever is .. so I don't have anythng to say on the subject other than generally... if what you said is true he should be ashamed and weasels always get what they have coming sooner or later. I don't know what goes on in that inner sactum but feel free to pop up the details for all to see...I love a investigating a good controversy

I am not sure what the censorship issues are, but if you have a problem with someone, I would do as Rich says and post the info you have here and let people make up their minds. I don't know this "relo Jay" guy from a hot rock, but I would love to hear about someone in the biz who is unethical. Just be sure to try and look at it from a 3rd party's point of view. How would I, for instance, view what you just posted about relo Jay?

I am trying not to be bias but it is hard with this www.relo-experts.com. He is a snake in the grass but..One of the main reasons is do any of us want a directory ranking higher then we are for our real estate key phrases.

When you give someone like that control you either do as they say or they try to nail you. This site wasnt even in the serps for agents key phrases now after he has linked agents to his homepage he is poping up for their search phrases and CLIMBING the serps and has passed some of those people on the serps. Notice where the relo-experts is at and the other real estate directory. Do you as web savvy agents want those sites ranking above you. Maybe if those were your search phrases and they were not in the number 7 and number 8 spot your site might be there. Only we as realtors give the directories the power to rank that high in the top 10 for your city real estate.

Why would we as web savvy realtors ever want to do that. Does their link have more value to us on our site or does that ranking have more value to our own sites.

Now a days most realtors have a directory on their site so why do we need directories that are only going to compete with us???

One member of our relocation group told him he was going to remove his links but the realtor said he would pay for the pages he was in ..in the relo-experts directory and he did..then after Jay from relo-experts ask him to relink with him and the realtor said no..Jay of Relo- Experts threaten to remove the realtors links and put one of the realtors competitors sites up in his place.

These are things we as realtors can not allow to happen if we all dont stick together as a group then people such as Jay and Relo-Experts will take advantage of us all the time. Without Realtors Directories like his wouldnt exsist. So why should we allow those directories to control our fate.

Hmmm, this is a tough one. I really don't want to look at things like this to be honest. If relo Jay or anyone else has figured out/been able to get his site to rank higher than mine for a particular keyword...more power to him. If I don't choose to participate in his LE...so be it. That is my choice. If he is unethical, then I think you should let people know what happened and let them make their own decisions.

I just don't think we should consipire, as a group of realtors or otherwise, to ban any particular site, service or person.

No we shouldnt conspire against anyone..but when you know that this person is using those involved to better rank themselves and then go back and ask for money from those realtors to keep their link up there or that he will find a competitor to give that link to then yes we must bond together to keep this from happening.

There are members from the relocation group I am sure will respond to this and give their opinions as well and how they saw things. You are right about one thing it is my opinion..but I do know others from conversations over the phone and email feel the same way about this guy and his website.

My main point is putting this person aside..do we as realtors since the purpose of linking with directories is to get BLs need them. As I stated most realtors have directories on their website so why would we want to help a competitor in our market climb up the rankings and maybe pass us and take business from us.

Would you link with a realtor in your market? I know I wouldnt because I wouldnt want to help them pass me in the rankings. IMHO

Give it a rest Wayne. Be very careful who you call unethical. You never know who will show up with info about a skeleton or two in your closet. It's a smaller world than most people realize.

This is gonna look real stupid to most but I've gotta offer my two cents (my wife say's it's a character flaw), I may be mistaken (never stopped me before) but this is my impression.

I'm not a "power broker" in anything, especially in real estate. Hell I've got only one site that even relates. I'm not a broker or an agent so...

1. I am very grateful for this resource (helps me understand a little about your business and increases my knowledge base as a home-owner and Web Guy) and I'm under the impression that a few people have really helped to get it going. I don't know all of them, but I do know when SEO Guy says operational expenses aren't a concern for forum functions etc... that somebody's kicking in. (and at this point those of us not in that group have a far greater ROI)

2. This forum is developing into a nice little community. Part of being in a smaller community is the relationships that are established and the trust developed.

3. Drama has it's place.

It would seem that if a reglar member of the community decided discontinue a relationship with a specific person or enterprise, that the information would be as welcome as a recommendation on a new business relationship. (Given that the number of "out-theres" will increase as the community grows)

My only problem is that is that I still don't have a clue what the _____ (fill in the blank) anybody's talking about (no details please) and if someone new were to check in and see such initially, it may give them a false view of what we're on about.

Wouldn't it be sufficient (at this point in a new community) to say "Entity.com F%&#'d me"?

I accept that there may be any number of complexities out there... as I said, it's just two cents feel free to disregard.

Here's my opinion on ALL directories which are directly competing for your keywords. Not all do but a quick glance at the source code of the one mentioned seems to point to the fact they they are.

I highly reccomend staying out of directories that are in direct competition for your keywords. Think about what you get out of it...1 backlink big deal.

Now think about how you will compete with them and the countless others as they pass you by in the serps because YOU put them there. They are building thousands of relevent backlinks to take business and your helping them...
