Thread: Relo- Experts a Must Read

    First let me say thank you to Savvy...I just got off the phone with
    http://www.relo.com/default_FLASH.aspx spoke with Eric he is heading the legal action against Relo-Experts.. Eric told me that they have sent a notice to Jay of Relo-Experts to cease and desist the use of the name relo-experts and that they have gone un-answered..so they now have started collecting information to prepare a lawsuit against him and this site will be taken down according to Eric of Relo.com.

    I was also told that they have had numberous complaints sent to them about relo-experts..after talking with Eirc he seems well motivated in making sure Jay pays for the use of this trademark name. He also mentioned they were also contacted by google about this because of some complaints that had come in about Jays-relo-experts site.

    So all those Realtors that are paying to have those bio pages and links to the relo-experts directory will end up paying for something they cant keep. Pus I may be wrong here and I am sure someone can say whether this would be true or not but if Relo.com does get a judgement against relo-experts then that would be sent to google and the site would be banned and those that link with him could be penalized as well..but I am not 100% positive about that.

    I truely hope that everyone who links with him will check this out for themselves and not just take my word for it..this is one reason I put the link up there so you can contact them yourself..to see if what I am telling you is true.

    Wayne,

    I was unaware you stole copyrighted content from Diann, regardless of how you used it or for how long. Also comparing, or justifying, copyright infringement with the use of template content is absurd.

    As for calling people unethical, and putting aside the fact that you are a Realtor who subscribes to the Code of Ethics, my point was that it is never a good idea to do that in a public forum without concrete proof. And even with proof, forums like this are not the proper place because you subject the various forum owners to potential liability.

    As for directories, I dont think you get it. You will never be able to control who competes with you online. As long as Google's algo gives a bump to directories, they will do well, whether you link to them or not. HomeGain is a good example.

    Calling these listings spam is laughable. As long as a search for 'city real estate' returns something relevant to real estate, then Google doesnt consider it spam. Besides if you really feel that way, then why are you participating here? Morgan can put up something in less than a week that would duplicate what Jay did and this forum will give him a huge boost. So I really dont see where you are coming from as you dont seem to be consistent with yor positions.

    You are right you ol who competes with you online..but you can control a directory who competes with you.
    1. Who do you think gives these directories the power to compete...yes Realtors ..you and I thats who.
    2. Why would you as a web savvy realtor want to give this directory the power to pass you in the results?
    3.why would you think that if they pass you that it could bring you more business...well not only is your site listed but hundreds of others..so a consumer for what ever reason may not find your site that appealing on move on to someone elses...Now if you were in the top 10 for search results and you have what you feel is the best informative site there then guess what that consumer is most likely going to submit a lead to you or call you...
    but if you are competing with a hundred other sites because that directory is listed in the top 10 or listed above you then you dont have that chance.

    As for that concrete proof you mention well I think the company that owns that TM and Copyright is proof enough..relo.com is a big company and they wont play around with relo-experts his days are numbered and those that link with him could suffer a penalty..If google takes action when relo.com gets a judgement....COULD get a penalty

    Without presenting this on a public forum those of us who are unaware of the things we are talking about ..need to be made aware so they can make an informed choice. I would personally hope that if there was something out there that could hurt my business I would be made aware of it.

    Forums are just that a place to find information. So you are suggesting that we need to censor information that could hurt us and our business..I would hope not ...you seem to be a very smart person...so just because you may see this as attacking someone you know or contributes to another forum you visit why say that this type of information shouldnt be posted on a forum..it only helps to protect those of us that dont know and gives us some information to investigate this on our own. This is the only reason I mention you knowing him this is your post sdhomes from another forum:

    you also mentioned Homegain..well where is homegain is showing up in the top 10 in google for your city real estate... Now relo-experts I can show you several citys they are showing up for your city real estate and climbing. Google is not stupid and they will change that to where directories are not given as much credit...but until then we must protect what we all have spent so much time and effort on to get the rankings and business we have.

    I have already requested that peoples names not be brought into this disgussion, and although we are not liable for our members comments SD please be assured no member of realestatewebmasters admin staff nor SEO Guy supports the slander or defamation of character of anyone, that is simply not what this forum is for.

    I am locking this thread as I think it has gotten out of hand, this is not a relo experts bashing forum, this is a lets improve "our" websites forum.

    Atlanta Realtor if you would like to air your discontent for other website owners I suggest you take it elsewhere
