Default Free riders with bad registration info

When you get an IDX registration with totally bogus info do you cut off their access? I haven't been kicking them out, even though I can't contact them I figure at least they are possibly coming back to the site and may be potential customers one day.

I would not kick them out. Not only could they be a customer one day, but every time they visit your site they see your name. Isn't one of the main functions of your site to advertise you?

i turn them off immediately. If they are going to lie, I don't want them as a client. Also since i pay per search, they can go off someone else's search account.

If they just say hey, not in the market now, but maybe in a few months or I'll contact you when I'm ready, then I let them stay online, but I know not to focus any time on them.

You pay per search? Ouch! - How much if you don't mind me asking

How do you cut off their access? Is this something that only REW IDX has? I always wanted the option to lock block out certain IP addresses, would work wonders for me because I have people that keep signing in all the time with a variation of their info but it is the same person but bogus contact info.

if i recall correctly it's 10000 views per month and then each additional search is 1/3rd of a cent. In the summer last year I got reamed for 500 bones, but that was when I wasn't really on top of the leads and would let anyone search on me for free for ever basically. Now I monitor the search engine (a $500 bill will make you do that!) and disable the login of anyone who met my previous criteria. It's expensive, but I've had them for almost 2 years now and they do a search that consumers like. I would make changes, but I was in hi-tech for many years working on software development teams so what I think really doesn't matter much.

I still wouldn't turn them off. Some people just like to remain anonymous before giving up any info. You need to get a new IDX so you don't have to worry about that

Yeah i had ihomefiner, I had to go to there top broker package which was like 15k search a month. I was getting before the site change about 21k or more searches a month. The guy that hosted my MLS Search said he never saw so many searches. It was costing me $300 a month for my search. I always went over. It isnt like that now cause i require sign up but it might be close. I am with Rew now and only pay $30 a month.

BTW, if the email comes back and the have a bad phone, I dont have time for them. We are getting about 15 to 20 leads a day, and they will be replaced. I dont let people use what i pay for FREE.

With 15-20 leads a day (Kudos to Mike) I wouldn't let then stay either. They can come back and re register with real info.
