Default New Real Estate Search Engine - Roost (BETA)

I just came across this new site: http://www.roost.com/

It's in beta and currently just covers a few areas, but I found myself spending over an hour just looking through homes in my area. The searching experience is pretty sweet. A lot of cool AJAX features going on...

From what I gather, they provide IDX solutions to agents/brokers and then form a relationship with them to use all the listings in their own search engine... I think...

    Thoughts?

Good looking design and a great idea, but it was so slow to load for me and I'm on T1.

I really like that dial feature for sq feet and number of bed rooms.

Kind of reminds me of blueroof, which I find more visually appealing. The map loads up a damn site faster than mine, which is nice to have.

Maybe it is the slide bars people find cool?

May be pulling from the Real Estate Book. I noticed a broker listing from my old town. That particular broker does not have a large franchise system to syndicate through and is probably not savvy enough to be doing it itself. It appears that most all of the brokerages are in the list. So unless they are pulling an MLS feed it leads me to suspect that it is from one of the primary RE publications there - either Real Estate Book or Homes and Land. I suspect it is TREB.

On second thought it seems to be straight from Pru of GA - prudentialgeorgia . idx . roost . com

    I spoke too soon.

Interesting, my area is pulling listings from my broker's IDX and the top is branded with the corporate office. I haven't heard anything about this other than as an office they are directing a lot of resources to wards internet marketing.

I do like the dial up/down search feature.

Being two of the more important things that I think buyers like to look at on real estate websites, what I really like is the ease and speed of the AJAX-y "View Photos" and "View on Map" features.
