Default Please Remove Forced Registration On IDX

Can someone please remove the forced registration on the IDX ASAP, while I am deciding what I am going to do.....right now it won't let anyone past the initial search page, they will obviously just go to another site for their search

    Hi Susan,

Visitors should now be able to view property details on your IDX without having to log in.

Susan can you try the "tease" method? Works wonders, let them see the search results, then when they click to view details it makes them sign in, they usually will sign in at that point.

But Mike, why would I tease if other sites on the same page offer it all for nothing!! What I have to offer is better of course but at that point, they just want to look around without obligation. I asked a few freinds to log into the site as a tester and they said they would've been annoyed by the forced registration if they didn't know it was me.

I've been thinking about this alot and it may vary on area as I know already that various areas work differently with success. Perhaps its best to let the customer browse around for 4-5 details clicks (?)...get comfortable with "using" the site (key)...before putting forward not a forced but suggested signing in so I can send you listings that seem to be of interest, etc. Is this the tease you were referring to...

I know when I go on a site and it hits me up with a sign in .... I fly off it and look for one that doesn't require that.

I think trying it different ways is prudent as each area does have their own quirks. I know in our area, sign-in works after a teaser view or even up-front for any access based on tests I have done. Part of it here may be that many have to do PPC using their "same as everyone else" sites and the same sign-in landing pages are common. It could be that is what the web provider is telling them to do to justify the site expense. Otherwise, there is nothing on the site worth looking at!

How interesting this is .... But I went on Summit and Morristown and other sites and I am able to just search, search with no sign in requirements. I can understand why they would bounce off my site. Maybe its a don't get to close...NY thing.

Oh, now that says it all! Thank goodness everyone out here wants to appear to be warm and fuzzy so we can get 8-10 sign-in's an hour sometime! Okay, I know... just had to yank your chain!

Well...people view NY as scary...CA is friendly..outdoorsy. C'mon Drew.. you've seen the movies. Truthfully, NY is a little scary!!! I plan things carefully when I go in.
