Thumbs up Re: getting started as a real estate salesperson PLEASE HELP!

if this is your first Sales career do this :
Interview as many brokerage as possible to see who's gonna give you the best training in the business ( remember they all claim they will give you the time to train you, so stay sharp, 85% of them probably won't train you )
then you have to have a business Plan and a Goal. what you what to happen and
how much you want to make and how you will achieve that goal.
then create a team of Title companies and Loan officers ( again call them all up
and have them come to yuor office and interview them, ask them what they can
do for you not what you can do for them ..;-) basically I would stick with the bigger title companies such as maybe First American or Fidelity. on the loan side,
you might want to interview a lot of mortgage brokers or laon officers..pick the 2 or 3 best and give em a try, if they perform great used them often. From experience I used the loan officers that promises less because they usually that
    perform the best.
then when you have your team setup, go prospect for some business, I recomend
door knocking on your neighbors , tell them your now a Real Estate guy and
would love to do business with them either by buying or selling homes.
cold calling is good, it is easy and fast, you dont' have to meet face to face rejection, it is not for everyone...I love door knocking.
I can go on forever but you get the idea.....

getting a mentor in the office is a good idea to go along with all of that as well, unfortunatly, they are not always available in each office.... reall depends on who is there...

OR you could try to join a TEAM that has all of that already....

    Just thoughts to chew on...

Real estate is a business for self-starters. It is not a business where you go put in eight hours a day and earn an income.

You only earn an income if you produce.

For most new agents, the first two years you are in the business should be in an environment where education and training are prevalent. A workplace that helps you create a roadmap, a plan, and somewhere that has management to help you minimize your mistakes and be positive while you deal with that initial wave of rejection.

It is sales and you need to learn to sell. Read books that teach you this art, get ideas, adapt those ideas to real estate.
