I get a call today. Some lady with a chip on her shoulder wants to know what her house is worth. She has looked all over the internet and can't find out what her house is worth. all she wants to know is what her house is worth. you got that, she just wants to know what the comps are in the neighborhood. recent comps. not those old comps. recent comps. and she doesn't want anyone soliciting her. got that. no calls. no solicitation. no one calling her to try to sell her house. just give her the info she needs. she doesn't want to sell the home. doesn't need an agent calling.

I try asking her questions, but she starts rambling about people soliciting her. I wanted to hang up, but I wasn't bored enough.

I asked for her address. She didnt want to give it to me. I explained that I could not give her the comps unless I knew where she lived. Then I asked for her email address. well why in hell would i want her email address? She doesn't want anyone soliciting her or knockin on her door. I asked her how she wanted me to get the info to her. after 15 seconds of silence she gave me her email.

Well, i was generous and gave her comps of the lowest homes just sold in the area that were bank owned. Then I nicely mentioned that if she wanted free information, possibly incorrect, to go visit Zillow dot com. Those homes backing the freeway are in HIGH demand.

I'd like to follow up with a letter to her, but i threw away all the info so that i would not be tempted to tell her what I thought. So, I vent here!

And then I wonder....maybe she was someone that signed on to housevalues?
