Google Toolbar: Status...Quick Help Here?

Hi all,

I've been out of the game for a while due to a hostile take over by real life. Anyway, wanted to check with you all. What's the deal with the google toolbar? Now the PR meter runs grey for every site out there? Did they officially disable the PageRank data? I know PR isn't everything, but it still gives you a basic feel for where a site is coming from.

I'm sure everyone talked about this while I was gone, but I didn't find much on a search.

Let me know if there is NO WAY TO GET PR VIA THE GOOGLE TOOLBAR...and if so...I'll uninstall this thing asap.

Hey Cecil,

What version of the toolbar are you using?

I have noticed that Version 3 is buggy. A lot of the pages I visit are gray and strangely it seems that many home pages are gray and their interior's show PR.

I have not used version 2 in awhile but I would assume if there was a widespread problem we would here more about it on the forums.

Hmmm,

I don't know. I just took a browse around the other forums and I do not see any threads about such a problem.

I did post at another one asking how many are seeing the gray bar problem with Version 3.

Is anyone else having problems with either version?

Ok...now this is weird...now it seems to be working. I'll assume it was a "me" problem. Perhaps the toolbar takes a while to initialize before the PR piece goes live.

Thanks for the help SRM...it helps to know other people are still not having problems out there.

on the side, I just installed the alexa toolbar also. It's nice seeing the ranking instantly as you browse around and having handy access to the alexa data seems nice.

Had the same problem when I first dl'ed the tool bar. I was really freaking out that our pages had been banned whatever until I realized that all the pages were showing up like that. I felt better after that...
