Default How to upload an image

I anticipate one of the most reguently asked questions regarding the new backend will be about inserting images in the wysiwyg editor - There is a completely new image editor in this system and although it is a LOT more powerful, it can be a bit confusing the first time you use it.

Once you click somewhere that you want to insert an image and click the image manager icon, the following window will open up.

A little over half way down to the right, you will see 5 boxes in a row, one a white square with a green arrow on it - click that to access your computer to upload an image.

Once you have selected an image from your computer to upload you will see a green arrow to the right of the browse button (Looks like the symbol for play on a dvd player) click that green button to send the image to your manager.

Once you have uploaded your image, it will show in your list of available images (The name of the image itself) click on the image name, and you will see a preview of the image - if that is the image you want to insert - click insert at the bottom and you are done - the image is now on your page

Usibility / SEO tip - To make it easy to find your images (This also helps for optimizing for Google images) try to name your images in such a way that they are descriptive of the photo - for instance the image you see in the photo I uploaded is our office, which is called "Tree Sea Place" so what I should do is rename the photo so that it is descriptive of what the image is but also try to anticipate what image searchers would search - Something like trea-sea-place-nanaimo.jpg - For consistency I always use hyphens to represent spaces and all lower cases in my filenames.

    Hi Brian,
You are not doing anything wrong here. It looks like there may be a script error on our side. I will post this in the Bug Reporting Forum so that this can be resolved.

Is there a way to insert a thumbnail image that will expand when you click on it?

    Thanks

There is not a tool that will expand the the image for you. However, it is easy enough to do.

Just have a thumbnail image saved and the same (larger) image saved and uploaded to to the image toolbox.

Insert the thumbnail image in the proper position on the page.
Once the image is inserted, "select" it on the page so that it is highlighted. (Shown Below)
Click on the insert image button to open the image toolbox (iBrowser).
In the image toolbox, open up the "pop-up" option on the left.
In the pop-up options, select the larger image.
    Click insert.

When you click on the thumbnail image, the larger image will open up in a pop-up window.

Do I need to have the same image saved as 2 different sizes on my hard drive with 2 different file names before I can start the process - or will your software upload the image as either a thumbnail or original size?
