Default Limit City Search to Primary Listings

I want to limit the city search parameters to only "PRIMARY" listings. This is really just a problem for "Santa Barbara city" because it is often mistakenly thought to be bigger than it really is.

The Santa Barbara mls allows agents to inputs listings in many cases more than one time. This would happen if an agent has a listing for example in santa barbara and it was actually very close to the montecito city limit. The agent would then input a "PRIMARY" listing in santa barbara, and input a second listing as "NOT PRIMARY" in montecito...just so people/agents using the mls won't miss their fabulous listing.

This is a problem using the city search because too many listings show up outside the city of santa barbara, and it gives the impression that perhaps the santa barbara city search is all encompassing of the region.

let me know your thoughts...if this is possible to do.

What a horrible policy. It's here, but it's really not here.

You want to sling up a few of our Orange Beach, AL listings for Santa Barbara? We are relatively close to the city and have some great prices relative to the "Primary" State! We could go 50/50!

I do not see a field in the IDX data that identifies the listing as "PRIMARY" ... this might be better answered by the MLS board. In the meantime ... If you can provide a few MLS numbers of listings marked as PRIMARY I can see if I can determine a way to do this for you.

    Thank you,
