You know, they did a recent study between a Prius and BMW 520d (diesel) to see which got the better gas mileage and the BMW won. Plus, it's got 100 extra HP, looks a lot better and ... it's a BMW.
You don't get to be a smug hippie but if you're concerned about the environment, gas mileage AND you want something that looks decent for your clients, the BMW seems like a good choice. I'm not sure if you can get that model stateside though.

btw - I'm driving an Infiniti G35 now. It looks good and is tons of fun. Not sure about the mileage though ... but I don't really care too much about that.

Nope, can;t get that car in the states, in fact its hard to get just about any diesel in NY. However, we drive mostly City style showing houses, so don;t bother looking at highway mileage.
Also: Diesel is WELL over $4.00 per gallon here. Just about $1.00 more per gallon. So a diesel would have to get great mileage just to break even on the cost.
With this new car, I'll be saving myself $150 per month on fuel cost. I use to drive a Lexus and I am over the Status thing. I've got my Harley and some day the new Camaro Convertible, but only after they get rid of that ugly orange color they are making it in. For work it is strictly Practical!
