REW Blog page 1 to page 2

Anyone notice when you post your REW blog it ranks great (usually page 1) in Google within minutes to hours, but when it gets bumped down to page 2 of the REW blogs, it drops like a rock on Google? Will page 2 and after on the REW blogs gain pagerank? Is it because of the latest penalty issue?

It's not because of the penalty at all (There is no penalty any more) - it is that way on purpose - You need to continually blog to get the most love from the system - Also, just blogging isn't enough - you need to take advantage of the rest of the social networking part of REW - Do you have the "friends" widget engaged? I notice you have not entered your forum ID into your settings etc

There are lots of ways to promote internal linking for REW blogs, you just have to put in the time - also, building links TO your REW blog from external sources (Adding links to your REW blog from your active rain profile, squidoo, linked in etc) promoting your RSS feed in RSS readers etc - it is no different than promoting your own site - it's just the domain itself gives you a lot more authority as a base and cooler tools

Thanks Morgan! I'll look for the "friends" widget. I obviously have no clue how to best use blogs, so lots of research ahead for me (and start saving for an SEO/linking package). At least I knew well enough to start with a REW site
