IMO the fact that you "willfully" SPAM the Search Engines is a smart reason to stop exchanging links with your sites.
By using such deceptive practices you risk being banned from the search engines which puts your link partners at risk of being penalized for linking to a bad neighborhood.
You say you've removed the links but in fact you haven't. In your signature is/was a link to http://www.virginiamortgagelender.com/richmond_real_estate.htm which clearly shows:
PHP Code:
<div id=layer1 style="position:absolute; top:-600; left:-600; width:300; height:600; z-index:1; padding:5px; border: #C0C0C0 2px solid; background-color:#C0C0C0;">
So now, in addition to your link partners, you've put this forum at risk of being penalized for linking to a bad neighborhood.
