Default Yahoo has Banned my site

I just heard back from Yahoo about not being included in the search and in fact they have banned my site from Yahoo Index. Would someone take a look at my site http://www.virginiamortgagelender.com/ and give me feedback as to what the ban would be for.

I have some ideas but would like others. All feedback would be appreciated.

You aer hiding text with -600px. I would remove them quickly before you get banned from Google.

    frobn,

Thanks for the response....Do you think thats it? Anything else you see? That was kind of an experiment to see if it works. But unfortunately Google had a big update back in Feb at the same time and seemed to change its algo (so they say) so I was not sure if it even worked for the better. My SERPS exploded to number 1 for many state specific kw's, just did not know what to attribute it to.

As far as being banned from G I think that would be a stretch. But who knows. I am trying to figure out how to keep the links with out hiding them and mesh with the page as they are actual links to subpages to my site.

I guess I will find out over the next few days if it was even worth it.

IMO this qualifies as SPAMMING the index and warrants BANNING.

Wow, I'd say so too. Sorry mtgman but to play it safe I'm going to have to remove my link to your site. Did you do that on your other site also?

It can be done with css. Take a look at the links in the left column at: http://broadwaykeys.com You can do something similar, have all the links without hiding them and using very little real estate.

If those links exploded your SERPs I am going to examine what you did in greater detail so I think my coding example is a fair trade.

HMiller:The links were hidden by positioning them off screen at left:-600px; top:-600px; making them invisible to visitors but visible to SEs.

    frobn,

If those links exploded your SERPs
As I stated earlier, I am not sure as both were the same time. I have removed them and resubmitted to Yahoo. So we will see if it was even a factor. Did you design those sites? If so, send me a pm as I have a freind who needs a real esate site.

HMILLER- I understand your feeling, however I feel that such a decision would be assumptious and without thought. First the reason why my site is originally out of the Yahoo Index is not because of the links. The links are the reason they rejected my re-submittal. Secondly, My site has nearly never been in Yahoo for other reasons. Being out of Yahoo is not all that uncommon. Let me know if you repost the link.

As I said earlier I have removed the links so its a moot point anyway.

IMO the fact that you "willfully" SPAM the Search Engines is a smart reason to stop exchanging links with your sites.

By using such deceptive practices you risk being banned from the search engines which puts your link partners at risk of being penalized for linking to a bad neighborhood.

You say you've removed the links but in fact you haven't. In your signature is/was a link to http://www.virginiamortgagelender.com/richmond_real_estate.htm which clearly shows:
    PHP Code:
    <div id=layer1 style="position:absolute; top:-600; left:-600; width:300; height:600; z-index:1; padding:5px; border: #C0C0C0 2px solid; background-color:#C0C0C0;"
So now, in addition to your link partners, you've put this forum at risk of being penalized for linking to a bad neighborhood.

    ReSale,

    oops forgot about that one.

you've put this forum at risk of being penalized for linking to a bad neighborhood.
Its amazing that you can post a link suggesting such a far fetched notion. But I guess everyone is entitled to their own opinions, and you know the old saying about that. I just choose to keep mine to myself. That way, no one can make unwarranted assumptions of my character.
