New Forum Section?

Hey REW, I would like to see a new forum section added. I would like to see a "Legal or Law" space where you can discuss legal situations or if anyone knows about a certain law.

For instance, I asked a question in the "Ask an Agent" section about if anyone has ever done a referral to anyone in another country and do they use the same laws as the US (paying broker-to-broker.)

I don't know about the new forum, but I think that is an interesting question and I am looking forward to an answer on it...Do you have a specific country you are interested in?

I know my broker is a member of the leading real estate companies of the world leadingreDOTcom It is my understanding through this that I can refer pretty much anywhere in the world. Haven't had the opportunity to try it out to see how it works though.

I think that's an interesting idea... though it does start to go beyond the webmaster roots of the forum...?

IMHO it seems like plenty of conversations here are already outside the bounds of webmastering...

Legal, or Law forum would not likely fly here, but not because it takes us away from webmastering (This forum we are posting on is for general discussion in the real estate industry for instance) - my fear there is with the liability, sure we could post a disclaimer, but I would never want someone to read something here and take it as proper legal advise.

I think Morgan is right about the liability issues related to having a forum section on law. I can see every thread and all posts starting or ending with..."I'm not an attorney, please consult one kind of stuff". As Realtors we should stick to passing on knowledge of what we are licensed for...

We obviously all have our opinions on SEO, developing web sites, and software programs. But we should try to stay out of the legal, accounting, etc. advice. The other day I was in a thread about corporations, that actually made me uncomfortable for this same reason. Anyways...just my two cents.

For those of you interested, we had a referral from Canada. My broker spoke with the Florida Legal Hotline and they said it's just like the US. You must pay broker-to-broker.
