    Default key words

A basic question that I am unsure of what is true. I have read here, I think, where G is not taking much stock of KW's. Which brings up this question.

Is there any value to having the city duplicated in most all cases. For instance santa cruz homes, santa cruz houses, santa cruz? Or is it covered with Santa Cruz, house, condo, home, land?

The rew platform I have seems to have a limitation on the # of KW you can use.Maybe it is a character count, not sure.

    Any thoughts or comments?

I am not sure I would agree that G not taking much stock in kw, it is essential to in order to be found if you don't have for instance houses on your page but have homes then google may find Santa Cruz homes and not find Santa Cruz houses. It certainly is not the only factor but still a big one imo.

Also you really should never have limitations on what you can target for. Not every kw you target is going to be on your homepage, you need to use several pages if we are talking websites or several posts if talking about blogs each geared to a specific topic or kws.

I think my question was more aimed at the duplication of the "town" and each noun, home, condo, etc. With word or character limitations, Santa Cruz limits me because it's length to the number I can have, so if the "town" only needs to be there once and there is no further value in having it repeated 10 times, then I can pack with more KW variations from GA.

    Does that make sense?

I think I know what you are talking about. If you have the following keywords: santa cruz, homes, houses, livng, for instance, and someone googles "santa cruz houses" they WILL find your website in Google, even though the keyword you had wasn't "santa cruz homes", as Google will find all of those words in your site. Make sense?

With that being said, I have stopped using the keywords metatag long ago and rely solely on content.

I know someone is gonna follow this post and say I'm wrong, but oh well, I can handle it.

Gregg, are you referring to the meta keywords? If so, they're pretty much ignored by search engines.. so just make sure that they're unique to the page.

    If not, oops.

How big is the video file? You could put it on a video hosting site and just link to it from your home page. That way it wouldn't have to slow down your home page. You can try http://www.box.net. However, there a several more out there.

Let me know if you need any help.

I have a good hunch on your original question, but Id be interested to see what maybe Morgan, Ken, Ryan, or someone else in the know might have to say about Gregg's question. Yes....Bellingham WA real estate, etc. can get quite lenthy on key words...
