    Default Using Yahoo Answers

Hello. I was wondering if anyone had any experience using Yahoo Answers. They have a real estate section.

I've used Yahoo answers in past but have never received any solid business. Trulia will give you much better exposure and at least a few responses in my experience in the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex.

We've used Yahoo too - your success depends on how helpful, interesting or entertaining your answers are. If you give out great info. you'll get more visitors. It would work a lot better if you had a general site or a site that served multiple regions.

The nature of Trulia makes it more beneficial for real estate webmasters/agents - IMO

I found a couple questions from my city about real estate and mortgages. But yeah Trulia and Zillow seem to work better for that. I also looked into the links and they are nofollow. Another thing I noticed was if you have the keywords in title and throught out the content in yahoo, it ranks pretty good in google.

^ One of my sites was linked in Yahoo Answers and I got around 100 visitors from that one link in one day! It does work wonders.

As for the ranking, which ranks in Google, the Yahoo Answers page or your page itself?

Yes the page its self. I just did a test. I had my keyword in the title and repeated it in the body a couple more times. After the best answer was picked the site showed up in google on the first page, for those keywords. Nice.

hey alex, was the traffic you received from yahoo answers relevant? i wouldn't want browsers coming to my site, messing up my bounce rate and time on site. i am working very hard to convert users and i want people serious about using my services.

By utilizing the categories in Yahoo Answers, a site owner can use the content and knowledge available via their site or research to actively answer questions which are being asked within Yahoo Answers and not only will such participation build that expert recognition, but also possible traffic, links and sales.

Each Yahoo Answers form comes with a section for listing web sites as references to the answer. These direct links do include a NoFollow attribute, which makes it more difficult for search engines to use those links as part of their link popularity ranking algorithms, but that does not stop people from following these links.

In fact, these links are shown to result in referring traffic to the sites of those users who answer with in depth and accurate answers. And if an answer is chosen or starred as a quality answer by the Yahoo Answers community, this may show Yahoo Search that the site referenced is a quality and resourceful site, marking it as an authority and helping its Yahoo ranking.
