that's true. Yahoo may ban the account of member who put unnecessary links in his or her answers just for the sake of promoting sites without giving useful infomation to other members. Or if it's too much, they may ban the IP.

For those who post on Yahoo answers, have you received measurable/significant traffic from them? If so, how much time and effort did it take to be able to derive leads from there?

The results for me when I posted on yahoo answers a few years ago, I think I may have received 8 or 9 clicks on my website out of 10-15 posts on the most recent topics.

Before I was posting answers to all questions but the older ones didn't seem to pull in much traffic. I may have had around a high 70 low 80% bounce rate from those leads.

The numbers didn't justify a need for me to continue, but I might try a few more post now to see if I can get a lower bounce rate.

Thanks for the input, getsmart. That's precisely the kind of data that I was hoping to get back. Have you done 'answers' in other sites (i.e. zillow)??

But MarkZ, Ahmed does show it as quoted text - I guess you wanted us to know it was your original text, because although quoted, Ahmed doesn't say from where - right?

What Sandy says is spot on - need to have good content and also get voted the Best Answer before it will show up in a Google search ranked on first page. You can actually rort the Best Answers by setting up several alias accounts and voting for your own answers, to make sure it is voted Best Answer.
