Default Do you play it safe?

Because the real estate business is customer based, I was wondering if you prefer to play it safe when writing articles or blogs, or if you like to take risks now and then and pick a hot topic that may put off some readers?

If you write objectively about non-controversial topics, no one will be bothered by the piece, but it stands less of a chance of being picked up by other sites. On the other hand, if you pick a side on a controversial subject, you could alienate potential customers, but get more exposure.

    It's a bit of a pickle

    What do you think?

Great post, I think even playing it safe you can alienate people, Unfortunately this is the world we live in, everything has to be politically correct.I find myself not writing a lot of things thinking it may come off the wrong way or someone will take offense to it.

I feel Content is King and Truth will make you stand out in the crowd. Don't be afraid to take chances, people will appreciate the fact that you are telling the truth and rely on you. It will set the standard for other agents to follow. I try to speak the truth...good, bad, or indifferent. I just dont go on a tangent about a belief, if it is controversial, make sure you have your facts straight first.

Not sure what you mean by the "local real estate commission" but there is nothing wrong with speaking your mind and am pretty sure freedom of speech is still a consitutional right...they may not like something you say, and you may say something that shoots yourself in the foot, but noone is coming after you regarding your oppinion, unless it is a direct attack on someone or something

there isn't anything wrong with speaking your mind however some things you say could be considered steering, block busting, etc, etc, or even if you make a comment on race there could be violations with respect to fair housing. Not sure what the rules are like in Florida but I imagine it has to be some what the same.

I think you may have misunderstood my point, the topics that you bring up have legal consequence which I would not typically touch
