Default multiple domain names to same website???

I have one website and a couple of domain names. It it bad to point the domain names to the same website. Can it hurt SEO rankings?

I don't think it's bad at all to do a 301 redirect with one of your domains to point at jeffsellingbranson dot com. But to be honest I don't see the big time benefit out of it, unless someone specifically types in that domain name and then it redirects. I've done it in the past with a couple domains that had websites and after I got rid of the old site, I would just do a 301 redirect to point it at my new site. I've got a few of the redirects out there...but unless they had a previous site...I don't think your going to gain a whole lot. But, you might as well if they are just sitting there.

The best reason for a 301 I know of was to take advantage of alongkeywordphrase.com domain then have one easy to remember on your cards & sign like me.com .

I guess it doesn't really matter anymore ~ but just in case a new SE comes around I'll keep doing it.

I read somewhere that you should only point RELATED domains to your new one...so you wouldn't want to point your Britney Spears fansite to your Real Estate site

It's important for SEO purposes that you use the real domain name of the site when other sites are using the domain for a backlink
