Default Inserting HTML code for button maker program?

Hello, fairly new here but have posted and replied a couple times so far. I have a template in the process with REW and was trying to create some cool mouse over buttons from a button maker program. I am a little confused not knowing a ton about HTML. Has anyone done this before with a button maker program and been successful at it, tips, and thoughts?

It presents a HTML code and wants me to insert it but when I try I see no luck. I can however just save the picture of the button and upload as a picture then create the link easy enough but then it does not do the mouse over as it should.

I did see a post from August 2007 similar to this about inserting a button maker program on this forum when I searched (did not know how to attach to this thread?) and Morgan replied to it, it almost seemed it could not be done on a template? But the answer was finalized in a PM it appeared so I am not sure that's the case.

The program is through http://vista-buttons.com/ maybe its not the right fit for the templates or I am just doing it wrong, any advice anyone could lend would be appreciated, growing frustrated . Thanks!

    Derrick,

You will be amazed at what REW can do if you just ask especially when you are getting into the coding. I learned the hard way. What took them 5 minutes took me most of the day. Just speak to your developer about some custom work and let them run with it. Not sure if Mouse overs are good for SEO anyway, but they will tell you that as well.

I am learning the hard way to relinquish more control of what I was use to and give REW my faith and trust. Not really an easy thing to do.

Don't worry you get it figured out, if you can get the .gif or .jpg to load where you want it the mouse over is just added coding. I would suggest Googling the issue, I just did and there were several answers for CSS & html.

Let us know what you figure out.

I tend to agree with the others about letting the designer of your template create your menu's. They generally will be tighter and more cleanly implemented then what you will come up with in most cases.

I looked at the link you gave and that software is incredibly expensive considering how limited it is in scope.

Xara has been around for ever an is part of the tool kit of many a pro designer. It is simple and effective and produces a very wide variety of menu styles. http://site.xara.com/products/menumaker/

As for cool menus .... on a business site there is no such thing. The coolest menu on a business site is one that is clean simple and effective without being flashy or distracting. The last thing I would use is a Vista looking menu. Do you really want to associate your site with the most disliked O/S in 10 years?
