SEO Tactics On School Info

What does everyone do for SEO on School information. I'm sure this is something that people do searches on while looking for homes. Most realtor sites I have seen just have outgoing links to different school info sites. But I don't think this is really capitalizing on the SEO benefits of writing on particular area schools. Whats your take on it?

Personally I don't think it's worth the time, unless you only have like 2 schools in the area. I see where there could be bennefits of getting your school pages ranking for "school district" real estate terms. But I'm not sure how many people are searching for "school district" real esatat.

i would think writing blog or articles on school info linking into your site would satisfy SEO and allow additional exposure

yes, blog on highschools, elementary, middle, private is on my to do list, but way down at bottom below several hundred pages of new content that need to be written, so much to do...so little time

I've been wondering about trying to integrate school stats from some kind of larger database. The major barrier is the cost and complexity of trying to do so.

Anyone have any experience with this that they would care to share?

How about something like my Columbus School Info page?

I really intend to come back and add more content in addition to the framed page but it has most of the good SEO requirements like title, description, h1, some content, and is linked in. I think with a little more content this could be a good example. I also think I need to link out to additional school resources in the area. Note to self - work on school page today.

It is good info for my clients and another way for them to find me on the net. If a family is moving to Columbus GA - one of the first things they are going to want to know - is about the schools in the area.

Now I need to write a blog post about schools and link back to this page.

I do very well for school pages. I rank up there with the ISd website for most schools

I was looking at one of our client's Google Analytics stats just the other day, and saw that their six schools pages (which I wrote for them a year ago ) are bringing in a lot of traffic (whether it's relevant traffic, I can't say at this point, because I didn't check out the users' paths after landing - but I did notice that bounce rates were low).

On that site, the main [city] schools page got more than 300 views in the last month, mostly from the keyword "[city] area schools" and "[city] [state] schools". The bounce rate was very low.

The 5 individual ISD pages got almost 400 views collectively; they mostly ranked for "[area] isd real estate".

That client's idx feed also allows us to create listings snippets which display properties served by those school districts, displayed right on those pages.

This is good info... seems like school information is a natural desire for families that are moving...
