I havent seen any value in one of my sites being listed. and it has been listed for several months now. seems like not as important as used to be. Is still value in dmoz?

From our experience yes. It may take some time to realize the full benefit as DMOZ search results propagate all over the interenet.
Exactly, many other strong directories use the results from them and you end up getting several links from sites you never expected or heard of... and ONE way links too!....Originally Posted by Oppenheimer Group

Well if nothing else talking about helped me find you and I've just submitted some sites to your directory
There's something nasty at the top of your page that the corporate firewall is blocking though. I can see the google ads so it's not that. Will look from another system...

your sites have been added.. it is adbrite banner ads that are probably being blocked. i have a couple issues with the site im just finding out about... mainly placement issues.. it looks perfect on my computer, but with different resolutions and screen sizes may not look right.. But hey im just a real estate agent, and im working on it

Might pay to double check that DMOZ listing and ask for a site review while you are at it. Thanks for a listing, I've added another couple and even signed up at the forum!

I would say there is still some value, but it's fairly minimal. The DMOZ editors are getting more communist about their entries every day, and it's completely arbitrary whether you get in to the category you wanted (if at all), and there's no recourse.
I did it for a couple of sites (which never really saw any significant boost because of it), then gave up when I started getting flak for submitting multiple similar sites.
Bah to them.

I can't say that I've gotten any real benefit either. I haven't really had a positive experience with the editors, either.
I'm still waiting to get on.
So far not a single site ever submitted got listed in dmoz.
Neither any new site nor my older software site where major search engines find > 600,000 links pointing to the site.
