Exclamation Google Analytics & Email Campaigns

    Hello all...

I also posted this message in the 'coding' forum. I just want to make sure that I post this issue in the right place.

The problem that I am having is this:
I am trying to add coding to URLs so that we can track email campaigns. Specifically, through the auto responders. (At this point)

For some reason, after I send myself a test response, the link sends me to a 404 ERROR page.

I generated the link using the Google URL tool, so the coding is correct.

Using the HTML editor, I made sure the string was in there properly. So there shouldn't be any problems.

I am a bit frustrated, as I have been working on getting it to work properly for some time today.

If anyone has had the same problem or experience, OR guidance... I am all ears.

    Thanks in advance.

    Mel,

Since this topic hasn't gotten any activity, I'll jump in here. I don't think GA is going to give you what you want. First off, not all emails are HTML. Some people still only view their emails in all text.

    Mel,

Do you have any kind of URL masking/permalink type of thing activated? I can try to trouble shoot it for you if you like

I'd love to see the entire html for the form & post link. Default-generated links are what they are -- they're default. It may take some tweaking and swearing, not just copy & pasting before things're ok.

I'm with Scott. My knowledge of GA isn't that extensive, but I don't think it's going to give you what you want.
