Question Redirecting domain issue, don't want to loose emails in the process

    Hi,

We started a custom website through another company...we already owned a domain name with emails attached to it (adkor.net), when we moved to that site we pointed adkor.net to the new url along with about 30 others (at that time it used a go daddy name server). We also asked that the other company host our emails attached to that domain name.

Problem: 1) if I forward that domain name to our new site that REW is doing it does not redirect it, the other 30 or so did, but not adkor.net...I think this is because they changed the name server from godaddy to theirs.

The question is, if I change the name server back so I can point it to our REW site, will I loose the emails that are currently attached to that domain?

    2) if the reason the domain will not forward is not because of the name server, how do I forward it and if I want to regain control of my emails, how can I (right now they are going through squirrel mail and are still routed to an office mailbox, but I am not sure how emails work really......we already had REW use 5 of our other emails, so I was not able to add more)

the object is to redirect adkor.net to soldbyceleste.com and not loose any of the emails attached to adkor.net in the process as they are used often.

    thanks

    Hello Celeste

Yes, if you change your nameserver your email will break unless the servers you are changing to are aware of your email setup.

Your best bet is to contact the people in charge of those DNS nameservers and ask them to set up the redirect.
