    Default IDXPro v3 Upgrade

    Hey gang,
do any of you use IDXPro?

My IDX was upgraded to version 3 on 6/16 and I only had 1 lead in 6 days. They've changed how you control the registration process. In version 2, my registration was set to "require registration to view details". Now, that option is gone. They've set the registration to "display 2 free listings and then require registration". They're calling it a teaser. I can't change it.

I average the same number of daily visitors as before the upgrade, but nobody wants to register. The bounce rate is the same. I see that the searches that visitors are using are "targeted searches", but no leads. I even created a fake lead, just to see if the emails are coming through and I got a registration email within seconds. So that works.

I'm not sure what else explains this odd behaivor.

    Looking forward to your comments.

    Regards

I've got IDX Pro and experienced the upgrade. I didn't have registration requirements like you had configured in 2.x so not having to deal with that change. I'm not seeing a drop off in leads after the upgrade. But I do have other issues....

They changed the width of the form which messed up my iframes and I'm going to need to go edit 16+ webpages.

Did you notice you're getting BCC emails when a prospect sends a listing to a friend? Talk about an invasion of privacy! They don't let you turn this off either. I

The ONLY thing that I've seen that it is an improvement to me is that they include the link to the listing detail in the lead email. I sure was hoping for more after the many months of hype for this upgrade.

I get those all the time with the REW IDX. Never thought of it as a invasion of privacy. Do you really think that people who use that function have the expectation that the REALTOR who owns the site they are using will not see the listings they send to family or friends?

Yeah, I get BCC'd on them as well. Couple of days ago, one of my clients who has been registered on my site for about 8 months, sent an email to someone. I thought that email was directed to me. The message was, "why is this so cheap?". Well, I did the research and sent her an email back. Then I realized that this email was directed at somebody else.

The way this email is structured, is it looks like it's directed to you, but it's not. I guess you live and learn.

One of the new features they've added is "Client Activity Report" and it doesn't work. They've made some changes that I'm really not happy with. Before, when someone used to register for IDX, the email that I would receive would contact the name, email, phone and what the visitor searched for. Now, I only get the name, email and phone. I have to login to my Admin panel to see what the person was doing and then I can customize my initial email.

BTW, I got 2 leads today all of a sudden. Both are 2 minutes apart. This is a very unusual behaivor.

I guess I need to look at what the prospect is receiving via email. I just received the following and sounds like someone likes the upgrade. Always nice to get one of these type of emails. - Keith

"The new search email format looks very nice! It does look like there's a typo, though. One sentence reads "The lastest 10 listings are displayed."
I suspect that should be "latest."

    Thanks for the great service!"

I don't think people assume that the Realtor is seeing the comments they send along with the listing based on some of the comments I've seen since the upgrade. How many would use this forwarding function if there was a statement "the site owner will get a copy of anything you send from this site"?

One of our biggest challenges is trust. We've got to fight that we are an Internet site PLUS we're Realtors. I can tell by how some people fill out forms that they don't really want to and there are some that probably will never fill out a form. An article about Realtors getting copied on messages they thought were private will only make our jobs tougher. I don't see getting copies of people's communications to someone else as a lead.

I try to be upfront with everything I do on my site and will add the statement that I get a copy of the messages when forwarding a listing once I figure out the best place to put it.

    Angry Re: IDXPro v3 Upgrade

I’m very upset about some of the new changes in IDXpro 3.0 and I’m currently looking for another IDX solution and that’s how I landed here.

I complained to them about a bunch of things already, and you should too. One of those things was the new “teaser” listing details. My leads have decreased 75% after that. I think one should be able to select if they want to use this feature or not. I also think that the value of the listing details page is very low, there should be more listing details offered and maybe users would register after seeing a teaser. I think that once they see the teaser and find out how little details there are in the details pages they go elsewhere.

The search by map feature is very slow and you have to zoom in 4 to 5 times in order to see listings, very disappointing.

Also, I’m currently having problems with my custom links. When a user clicks on the second page of the custom links it shows vacant land in a city that is not even related to my saved listings search. I’m going to have to tackle this pretty soon.

I’m currently considering the jump to IDXBroker, but I went to some agent sites and it looks like the server performance is not so good. Sometimes the css file is not loaded correctly even for the search page and this creates all sorts of problems with the layout. I have noticed scrip errors as well, so I don’t trust it to take the plunge. Another problem is that I think their support is not as good.

Please complain to IDXPro on the problems you have so they allow us to pick if we want to use the features or not, it’s that simple.

If anyone has suggestions on other IDX solutions please let me know.

    Thanks.
