I don't see any replies to your post so I thought I would share my opinion on Yahoo. First, they are a valuable source of traffic even though they are not in the same league as Google regarding volumes so you should definitely consider them in you SEO plans. That being said, you can typically optimize for Google and Yahoo will follow.
This is not the case in every situation, but in most. Three things that I have noticed Yahoo pays closer attention to than Google is Keywords in your URL, Keyword Density on pages and you guessed it Keywords in your Anchor text for links.
I have successfully got new sites ranked in the top 5 in yahoo with no external back links and only using the three above optimization techniques. This will not happen in huge markets, but if you start with this as your base and then work on your internal link structure along with back links you will do fine in Yahoo, but more importantly in Google.
As with anything SEO related what works for one might not for another. I wish you best of luck and hope you get the information you need.

It's a tricky one this, a lot of the on-the-page optimisation that you can do for Yahoo can appear spammy to Google. My own personal opinion is that Yahoo takes far more notice of what is in your actual content than Google which is more interested in you linking strategy.

Click Though Rate seems to weigh more with Yahoo regarding Quality Index.
Alot of people will say don't even worry about Yahoo, focus on Google... but I like traffic from anywhere I can get it. Yahoo seems to like on page SEO (meta data, keyword density in content, etc) more than Google. Also, it seems that with Yahoo they will respect links from non-relevant sources more than google.
content is the king for yahoo, unique and updated as frequently as possible. I would never count yahoo out or dismiss as worthless traffic. I received just under 4000 hits from yahoo last month alone, of course between videos, images and text google about trippled that last month, but every referral adds up in the end...

dont have much idea about yahoo.. if you ask me i can say a lot about google
I am not such a yahoo fan, however, feel free to ask me and questions about google and I will be more than happy to help you with it,

I like yahoo... so just go for content, internal text links, and lots of updating... those are my thoughts...
I second or third that. New fresh content is very important to Yahoo. They seemed to be concerned about making sure their results are showing sites that are still "alive" and not some old dead site that hasn't been updated in eons.
