no notification of - some- new IDX users?

We got 3 leads (at separate times) - they only entered their 1st name - nothing on the last name - yet it still saved their info,and they went on to view details and save listings - but when we go edit the lead, it tells us -OOPS! error need to enter the last name??? could somebody check on this + none of these came across as notification on our e-mail (others come just fine). We noticed them when working on other leads. + when we edited the leads we ended up putting a period . to their last name - so know which ones they are. Thanks ~Rita
