You are a big believer a REW IDX will be much better than the standard ones offered by local MLS?

Does using a custom IDX allow the pages to be viewed by SE's as individual content?

Thanks Ronnie. I thought you answers were both going to be yes. Looks like I need to eventually make an investment into a custom IDX. Having a custom IDX allows you to draw searches on the properties and addresses? I would still need to create content and links to rank for specific keywords for my real estate market?

Yes. A custom IDX may be one of the best investments you can make for your site as the properties/pages are not iFramed. It is a huge benefit for generating leads via long tail searches. One needs to look at ROI, rather than initial cost. I continually update mine with new features as it is by far the best tool I have on my site.

Oh I definitely think it is a worthwhile investment. So guess I am a little confused as to how a custom IDX brings in long tail searches. Do you create specific pages to bring in those long tails or does the way IDX listing show up for results?

Kevin, it is because of both. With REW, it's easy to create specific pages for area, tract, price, etc by placing an easily customized IDX snippet on the page and they get found for SERP's. Each property is formatted as a separate URL and the results show up for MLS #, address, description, etc based on how it is formatted.

Once you find out how easy it is to do, you will be finding new ways to add pages, searches, etc with new snippets. We do phenominally well for our area searches that have to do with REO, Bank Owned, Over 55 communities, zip code, tracts as well as addresses, MLS# searches, etc. Depending on your area MLS and how much effort you put into adding pages, you could end up with thousands of pages indexed.

It would be better not to add large amounts of content at once. Doing it slowly (few months) should be much better.

    Hope i was helpful,
