Time before one notices change in page rank

So I have been exchanging links for a little less than a month. I still have a page rank of 0. My question is do I just need to wait for the next google dance or is there something wrong with my site www.escapesomewhere.com. I am hoping that its just waiting for the google dance.

Also when I go to google and type in my url. I find when i search for sites that contain my url I get about 10 hits. And I can see some of the sites I have exchanged links with. When I click on web sites that link to this site I dont see any sites. Does anyone know the cause of this. I assume google has spidered those pages since they come up when I search for sites that contain www.escapesomewhere.com. Is there a time lapse between when a site is cached by google and when those link backs are related to my site.

I would write some content that uses some of your keywords that you are targeting on your homepage. Right now you have nothing but links. If you were assigned PR in the near future it would be low the way your homepage is now. Read this tutorial http://www.seo-guy.com/tutorial.html
You also need to do a "301 redirect" to point your URL escapesomewhere.com to www.escapehomes.com. Those URL's even though to you or the average user it seems like one website page, to search engines it is actually two pages with the exact same content. Your site will be penalized for this. Example; type in google.com in your web browser address bar. Notice it adds the www to the URL when it loads the page.

And I can see some of the sites I have exchanged links with. When I click on web sites that link to this site I dont see any sites.

I have no idea what you are talking about. I only see your site when I do a search like this http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q...=Google+Search

For google Im pretty sure if you type in a url it only shows one page. For instance with cnn

It just shows the www.cnn.com. And then it has options to either "Find web pages that link to www.cnn.com" or to "Find web pages that contain the term www.cnn.com"

When I click on "Find web pages that contain the term www.escapesomewhere.com" I get a few returns. When I click on "Find web pages that link to www.escapesomewhere.com" I dont get any returns.

What is happenning is, Google is showing you pages that have been cached by it's spiders that contain your link, but those pages won't necessarily show up in a backlink query. Although you may not be shown every backlink, Google does give you credit for it.

Edit: By the way your original post title said "Time before one notices change in page rank", Google's PR is constantly updating on a daily basis. It only updates what is shown in toolbar 3 or 4 times a year. So keep on exchanging links with real estate sites and write some original content for all of you website's pages, and after time you will increase your rank in Google.

It only updates 3 or 4 times a year that stinks. Is there anyway to figure out beforehand. Also just to understand. I thought that pagerank just had to do with how many pages link to you. And then when someone types a query into google where you come up in the list is based on the keywords on your site and your pagerank. So for instance if someone had a site with an image and no text and lots of people linked to that site it would have a high pagerank. But it would not be returned in many searches one did on google due to its lack of text. Is this not correct.

I kind of assumed that when looking at sites like this which alot of people have linked to but have no text http://www.smoothieking.com/. It has a page rank of 6 but in all the smoothie related searches I did on google it never came up.

You have about a 3 month wait since a PR update was just done recently. You can check here http://www.seochat.com/seo-tools/future-pagerank to see when it begins. I wouldn't waste your time until a few months have passed.

You will learn that Page Rank doesn't mean much. Sites with low PR can rank higher than high PR rank with proper SEO (search engine optimization). You should just start studying the ins and outs of SEO in this forum. Or you could higher the owners of Real Estate Webmasters forum to do your SEO.
