    Default Huge Drop

My website experienced a huge drop in rankings when my website was recently down for a week. My website is up and running again, and I am wondering what the best options are to get it cached again and back on top? Has anyone experienced a big drop before, if so how long did it take to get your rankings back?

2 ways of going about it IMO:
    1. Keep on doing what you are supposed to be doing: posting quality, original stuff - and it will pick back up on its own.

    2. File a reinclusion request. And have google people manually take a look at your site (<--not something I'd recommend if you are of the black hat/grey hat type).

We had a similar situation - our server was down one afternoon and it just happened to be the same time that google attempted to crawl our site. We got a warning message in Analytics indicating that our pages were taking too long to respond. Afterwards we did drop position on many search terms; however, it came back after the next visit from google. It took about 3 days. Hope this helps.

    first question:

"My website experienced a huge drop in rankings when my website was recently down for a week."

for a week? what in the world could make your website be down for a week? I jump all over my developers when one of my sites is down for 30 minutes??

I took a look at your site awhile back, and I have to say you must have a lot of free time on your hands to put forth so much effort in such a small (and decreasing) market.

Getting rankings in Holland requires about 1 link from a decent authority site. That's it. Then investing all the dollars in custom solution??? why??? maybe in chicago or a large market, but Holland, and even then, it's not very good? and using cold fusion? WTF?

You need to spend less time on the boards and more time taking some classes in common sense. Good luck takin down my dad in Holland, it's always a source of some good laughs for me. You'll do it someday, I know that.. as you are definitely persistent... but then I'll flip a switch and a few months later, you'll be cooked again. But I respect the persistence. If I ever list my properties in Holland, I would seriously consider listing with you, just because I bet you are a good agent. best of luck. JMHO.

Brent, please be a little more respectful of our members and not belittle their efforts.

My Website is up and running and once my web developer submited my site map again all of my ranking came right back within a day. I was expecting it to take a couple of weeks to get up and running again.

    Brent,
Business is actually good for me in Holland. Because of my website I am able to pick up a lot of buyers from out of the area. Nearly 50% of my business is coming from my website, so to not work on it is crazy. Having a custom website allows me to seperate from the competition, and the web developer built it with coldfusion. I am fine if I don't pass your dad, I believe I get just as many hits as he does with my current standings. And I am a very good agent...Thanks.

I have been seeing alot of bouncing up and down...not sure what is going on...both good and bad. My main keyword term that I tend to focus on is down, while others that I tend not to focus on are up..go figure

I had my site down for about a week last year and the same drop happened. Unfortunatly time is the only answer that really matters as they revisit your site. Most of my results were back with a couple weeks of being back online. I have since changed my host
