Yes. When I did use it, I think it only monitored 10 URL's for that monthly fee and you got a weekly or monthly email report.

I'm going to try the Copyscape! I just found a website that stole my article. It looks like they have done this for all their articles (no link backs on any of them)! Can they actually take all of these articles and keep them on their site? The site is www dot freecanadahomes dot com/articles.htm

Did you syndicate them to article submission sites?

no, this particular article was one I submitted to Ezine-which their rules stipulate that if publishers use them they must include the entire "signature box" as well as the original source--this site did not include that. Looking at all of the articles, they take most of the articles from Ezine and dont bother to include anything. They make it look like they wrote the articles, and give no author credit on any of the articles they include on their site.

Both have been with us for a long time, but the internet and other new technologies have made both plagiarism and counterfeiting easier. A potential plagiarist has access through the internet to extensive written materials on any topic, while counterfeiters can discover designs and products to copy, and can find customers through email and websites.

A friend uses it. She just logs on copyscape like logging on her email. You don't need to set it up.

Are you sure, you had the content before her?

Copyscape is a great service. I used it for a while when I suspected that others were using my content without permission. One time I’d discovered that someone had downloaded one of my entire websites and re-uploaded the site verbatim. They didn’t even have the respect to change the name on the home page. So yes, Copyscape is good.

Copy sentry helped me catch a local agent that stole my entire site and attempted to pass it off as her own. When confronted on the phone, she blamed her webmaster and the content was removed in about 5 days.

I use the "big toe method" when dealing with thieves now.
