    Hi Mark,

I submit one site to 500-1,000 directories/month. I am sure I will run out of directories at some point and that many are duplicate submissions to the directories I have submitted to before.

As there are always new directories being created and old ones shutting down or dropping links I feel this is a great way to constantly get fresh one-way links to my site.

Some take months to get approved so it's difficult to measure the percentage rate.

Yes, I dedicate an hour each morning before work doing link building for my sites. I usually outsource the directory submissions but for other link building I do all my own article writing/blog commenting/forum posting.

    All the best!

Jeff, do you mind sharing who you use for the directory submissions? I also do all my own link building with article, blog, etc. but would love to outsource the directory. Sounds like a good plan

An hour a day before normal work sounds like a good plan too. I find it hard to balance doing SEO with work - I know SEO/traffic has to be done, but boy, it can be quite tedious too and measuring the results for your efforts is always tricky and there's always going to be a time lag. Doing an hour before work will mean it gets done, it's out of the way and you can move on with the day a clear conscience. I guess we need to keep plugging away.

No. I'd rather put the money in advertising.

Make sure those directory sites have high PR rankings and submit it to many directories.
