Default Requests for Web Writing class?

    Hi everyone,
As you may know, I'll be making a presentation about writing for the web (focusing especially on real estate-specific matters), on Tuesday.

I already have a lot to go over, but I wanted to invite people to give me input on any specific aspects they'd like me to engage.

    Cheers!

Ooooh ooohh can I ask you for something? I would love for you to go over "synonyms" and ways to incorporate them into your content without sounding redundant or creating an inconsistent tone in your writing
Starting LEC 7 soon but it won't be called LEC 7 - LEC 2012 coming soon!

I like to write to the point and try to write as I would speak to a person. However, on my one REW site (the Oak Lawn Real Estate site Morgan gave me), it came with an index page that sounded nice but just wasn't me. I've left most of it intact but I'm still not comfortable with it.

So I'd like to know the difference between that index page and one that is simple and direct. What is best?

Money Magazine says that Orland Park real estate is one of the best places to live in the U.S. Check out Homer Glen homes if you're interested in living in the newest Chicago suburb. Next door, Lemont homes are the priciest in the southwest suburbs and have held their value, even appreciating while prices in other areas have gone down.

I'd like to know how to write without sounding like every other Realtor on the planet. Example, "Come view this fabulous bright open floorplan, two bedroom three bath condominium featuring granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, hardwood floors and a gas fireplace...... just like every other condo in town..."

Writing has always been my weakest trait, maybe it's just my thoughts are weak and unoriginal

What's best - 1st or 3rd person writing on a website? Sometimes I catch myself doing both and that's not good.

Knowing how much text is enough, giving enough information without beeing too wordy.

    speeling, speling, spelling!!!!!

Sometimes people who can't spell well don't think it's THAT big of a deal, but to those of us who can spell, it's a HUGE deal, and sometimes it could be a "deal-breaker"!

I have to admit I've seen professional signs, brochures, and websites that are full of errors and it really makes me think twice about the professionalism of the company and the other careless mistakes they might make!

There are some things in life that just have to be PERFECT

PS We all have our strengths and weaknesses, I know lots of wonderful people who can't spell worth a darn

Gerry - I am looking forward to your ideas relating to how much information you provide on an IDX page with properties, vs a blog page, vs how much text you suggest for the length of an article.
