Default where do I start out?

I finally gathered enough money to pay for my own rew site. (with rew idx)
It should be up in a day or 2
I found someone on craigslist that will create articles for me at a decent rate.
Now I am not sure what type of article he should create and then once its made where do I place it?
I want to start doing everything I can to start moving my site up the ranks.
My area is pretty low for online competition

    Where would you all start?
    thanks in advance

    Heya.

    Congrats on the REW site!

There's a couple of sites you should know right off the bat (in terms of where to submit your articles). Those are: Ezinearticles.com and RealTown.com

Ezine is hands down the best article directory out there, with the most benefit. Other than that, you can find lists of various good article sites on this forum and others.

Realtown.com is good because it's a Social Networking site (I recommend looking into this if you're looking to rank well; it's a great method) that ALSO accepts articles.

So, you get the bonus of a social networking profile as well as a high traffic place to post some articles.

Should I tell the company to write me 3 articles? One on selling, buying,
    and renting.
Also what keywords should I tell him to put in there? There are about 10 towns within 12-15 miles that I work in(there are 4 big towns with many small towns around them)

Also how do I make sure that these article's link back to my main domain once I submit them to ezines and other sites?

(sorry for all the questions i'm reading all I can in my free time)

    thanks again

I would recommend getting a sample of their work before you get them to do some writing. The keywords should be in relation to the search phrases you're looking to target.

The articles will link back as long as you fill out the HTML sig correctly.

Guy - dont forget to setup a G! Analytics account and sign up for webmaster tools.

Also, I use a content writer who I am happy with. If the Craigslist writer does not work out, PM me.

I don't find it difficult to write my own articles. They don't have to be too long....Only 250 words but I try to make them interesting. I am in th real estate business and therefore can write real estate related content.

Are they going to be able to write things that are "local" to your city? If you're looking to get higher up for keywords in general, any old article would work. But the local angle is sometimes more effective too.
