Thread: Homegain.com traffic, lead quality

    Default Homegain.com traffic, lead quality

Is anyone here buying traffic from Homegain? I have heard some great things from some E-realtors who swear its all they use, produces great leads etc...

We have been running a campaign with them for about 5 months now. Lots of leads generated, but very few of them seem to be any good.

Its converting for us at about 9% (clicks to leads), but very few seem like hot/warm leads.

Part of it may be our location in Hawaii, we seem to get lots of dreamers clicking through.

    Whats your experiece with them?

Not using Homegain for any of this but the leads that I get from my site seem to convert at about the 6 month or later time period if they are going to convert at all. Not many truly convert in a month or two, though a couple have for me.

I still would be interested in hearing if there are any others here who are using homegain this way.

I have to agree with Jim. It will take almost a year of really good lead incubation to generate accurate conversion stats.

Never tried Homegain myself, but Mitch Ribak (the 100 MPH real estate marketing guy) swears by it. He is the conversion king. He hangs out on bloodhound sometimes.

I was with them for about 3 years and finally ended that connection about 2 years ago. I think if someone wanted to really work that system & doesn't mind paying their high referral fee, it could work for some one. I think your far better off just generated the traffic on your own through your web site.

They obviously compete in the same search engine space as we do...along with tons of other companies where they have a business relationship with. I just felt I could do a better job of competing for the same end user on my own turf... On top of that...I really don't have an affinity for companies that compete in our space for leads that are just sold right back to us.

I have had great success with Homegain. I use their PPC system and have found that the clicks are more targeted than a click that comes thru the search engines and my G A show that click thrus from HG stay on the site longer and look at more pages than a normal search engine visitor.

PM me if you want more info on how to convert the HG visitors to sales. I have been with them for about 4 years and have a lot of experience in that area. If you are listening to Mitch Ribak though - he is the king of converting them - but I will be glad to help if I can.

    Ditto!!!

We used them when we first started and found them to be less then beneficial.

I'm being generous and kind with that statement btw.

I've heard others such as wayne who have found/experienced the complete opposite.

Unfortunately I just wrote this very long answer to your questions about using Homegain for lead conversion and it must have timed out. I was watching the debate at the same time. I'll answer this in brief and if you would like to chat about lead conversion, please feel free to contact me. You can also check out my training site at www.eHomesRealtyNetwork.com.

The three best points about using Homegain is:

    1. My click to lead conversion rate using Google and Yahoo is around 8%. My conversion rate with Homegain is usually around 15%-16%. This time of year for some reason it's a little lower.

    2. My cost per click on Google and Yahoo averages $2 per click. My cost per click using Homegain is $.99 per click.

    3. When I do Google and Yahoo I spent about 1.5 hours per day managing my 500 keywords. With Homegain, I spend no time at all. I use this time to become better at converting leads to sales.

To be successful at Lead Conversion you must have a strong conversion system in place. If not, you can throw away a ton of money trying to figure it out. I spent a small fortune before I got my final systems down. This year, in probably the worst market in the country, we are closing a little over 4% (based on my 6 months numbers). When the market comes back, based on our current new showings per Agent (approximately 8) we should get our closings closer to 10% of our raw leads. I'm excited about that of course!

As I said above, if you would like to chat, feel free to email me at Mitch@MitchRealty.com and I would be glad to help.
