Looking for Experienced Article Writer

I know this question has been asked before but I am looking for an affordable, decent writer who I can forge a long term, working relationship with to help write real estate articles for blog posts, article distribution and/or on my web site. Can anyone make an honest recommendation of someone they have used successfully and comment on their rates. Feel free to e-mail me directly or post. Thank you in advance.

It's been my experience that when you find a good writer, you don't share them because when you do, they get too busy for you, and you have to go find someone else.

For general interest articles, I've had good experience finding writers on rentacoder.com, and craigslist. (Craigslist is also an OK resource if you need a writer for local content.) (Elance is another one I've heard great things about, but last time I checked, they tend to be very proud of their prices.)

When I started, I had to pay 6 or 8 authors before I found one I wanted to continue a relationship with. Then, I developed a "pre screening process" where potential authors had to copy-edit a very poorly written paragraph. That allowed me to cut the list of authors interested by about 75% and made my job a lot easier.

Good insight Joel, I have someone that I use time to time, but am likely to check the web sources and do the vetting process you mention.Part of it I think is having write in your "voice" and that take a bit of relationship time I think. I have used a few indian submit companies with so so success. I will be keep searching for someone state side as well.

I have used indian companies for all my writing needs and do continue to use them. Just be specific in terms of what you want your articles to be developed and if you have reference that can help a lot.

Steve 80 it is not the content, it is the quality of their writing and grasp of the language. Also there are differences between English and American speech that can be evident in writing.If you have any specifics you can pm me or post. Thanks

Nothing against the people of India, but I would not hire them to write quality content. The culture is just to different and the amount of work you will have to put into couching them will make the process not worth while.

Maybe you should try coaching them as you can do that long distance or electronically. Couching seems entirely too personal a relationship for a copy writer for my tastes.

I will check those out Joyce, thanks. I did try an Indian source with poor results and the last one I checked out did have idiom deficiencies. They seem to sub the work out and the company i chose, submitatonce.com is an american company that also subbed out the work. They have a Texas office but do not return calls or fix their work.I was able to get a refund, but never got my time back and the amount of frustration was one I dont' want to do again. And no I don't really want to teach someone American English. Like all things there is a balance of price and quality and then getting the things inputted. The Indian companies have a price structure that seems appealing, but like many things there are trade offs. I do have someone at present, but it is only part of the solution. Time value is important as is an all in one solution. Have a good holidays.
