    Default What gives?

People must really avoid MSN like a plague when it comes to searching. Either that or Overture was a giant scam.

I ranked between 1st and 2nd for 5 keywords (2 hard, 3 soft) that have gotten me zero traffic for the last month. These are the very same keywords that somehow managed to get me 30-100+ impressions through overture which cost me a fortune.

Of course Yahoo gets a lot more search traffic than MSN but am I to believe that nobody in California is searching for those keywords on MSN? Amazing if true and just my luck.

Seems that I can get anywhere from 4 to 15 hits a day. And according to TheCounter all of those are "direct request." I've had one MSN search conducted by a friend just to see if it would register on my counter account. It did but I’m not entirely sure it isn't broken still.

So what gives? If it is TheCounter's error then which service/software is reliable for tracking hits? Where in the hell is my daily traffic coming from?

I do not get much traffic from msn either, when I do it is a few one day then nothing for a couple of days. Google is by far the most traffic for any of my real estate related terms. Directories account for more traffic than msn to give you an idea of how little msn does for me with many top 5 positions.

I noticed A LOT of traffic from MSN when they first cahnged over... it's still not too bad now (at least from my main KW's) .. I'd say they give me better quality hits then google does....
Google gets me a lot hits to my links pages...lol.. msn to my main kw's...

After posting yesterday I took a look at my stats for the day and had 5 hits from msn fo those 5 two signed up for the mls search. Not bad numbers IMO. For the whole week before 3 hits and no signups...so it goes in spurts.

I have the same problem with MSN despite ranking high there. No traffic. I have a theory that people using MSN search tend to be younger and not in the home buying age.

I would think it would be the exact opposite.

I'd think you'd get a lot more traffic from middle-aged to elderly people. I'm mainly talking about those that are less computer and internet savy. You can go up to a 90yr old man and he'll know Microsoft and Bill Gates.

I hear ya....I thought a lot of people that don't know much about 'puters' would leave their home page on the MSN page and use their search. I would be a lot happier if they did

We've had a number of 'natural search' hits from MSN. It's performed better than other search engines to date. Too early to tell if this is trend, though.

We were picked up early, too. I think the new search engine is much more robust than the old.

Believe it or not, MSN is one of my top rated referring search engines to our website. We get 5 times more traffic from MSN than Google.
