Finding a Broker House...

Hi, I'm beginning my Real Estate education process in Texas and anticipate having my license before fall. I was wondering which brokerage houses would be good to look into for a new agent and why?
I know that some Brokers penalize your commissions while you are in the training process. Obviously, I'd like to go with a house that offers the best training while not penalizing me too heavily while I'm still new. Any thoughts on what the typical "training penalty" is on commissions for beginners?
Any other thoughts on choosing a Broker are welcome.

In Texas it would be hard to beat Keller Williams. KW has great training and is very good at taking a new agent and getting them producing quickly. PM or e-mail me if you would like more details, have to run.

As an ex-Texan, in Texas it depends on the type of town you are in. If you are in a small town, there might be a local non-franchise brokerage which is more reputable than Coldwell, Remax or other big boys. For a new agent, since you probably don't have a customer base, the first goal should be leads, leads, and leads, with close broker contact being second for training purposes. Good luck pal.
