These guys are just bound to get snapped up by someone. Yahoo has been around for such a long time - it's been a good run!

Balmer is also probably pretty pissed that Yang made him, and other shareholders, lose millions. They had a good deal with MSN and left it on the table. Since, I've heard of two layoffs - just seems like a bad decision - an ego decision - but what do I know?
Wow I just looked up Yahoo. They only had 15,000 employees. A 10% reduction in one day is pretty severe.

The truth is no one has a crystal ball, and hindsight is 20/20 -- at the time the Yahoo! board felt that the offer wasn't good enough for their shareholders. I'm not sure that many of the shareholders agreed. But that is in the past. I do think that some ego played into it as well though.
