In looking back at this thread after being on G's first page of results for many search terms now for 60+ days I don't care quite as much about these stats. What I care about is the people who actually phone or email me. Then the key stat is how many of them will complete a transation. It is still too early in the game to have results, but what I'm seeing so far is interesting.

This month I have had 10 people contact me directly and 29 register on my site for idx listings. Nobody who has registered has contacted me - yet. Of the direct contact folks, I had one lady call me a month ago about listing her house. I'll list it this week. Two others I referred out and it looks like they will close on something within 45 days. Three buyers are on there way to town to look at homes with me in September.

The people who have contacted me have all commented on the quality of my site. They are the ones who want to read about schools, neighborhoods, market stats, etc. They are not the ones who head right for the listings page. Content really is king to them.

Before I had a clue about seo I bought leads from JustListed dot com. I had a little over 2% complete transactions. These were all people who had registered to receive listings and then had listings sent and the email drip going to them. I never really considered any of these leads to be strong. My new stats as they go over the next 6 months I think will show a huge conversion rate compared to buying leads.

It simply shows the power of good seo getting you to page 1.

Yep, sales are the best stats.

Hey eveyone... really great thread... would have to say that my time on the thread was in the 5 mins range reading everything.

Would say similarly that my stats are pretty comparable with everyones. Also, I try to leverage the listings for some capture which does seem to work. But there is a mix.

Having an email address I feel will help get greater visitor returns through email campaigns, but will decrease visitor duration should they not want to register for listing information.

Overall, feel a little encouraged that it's inline with having visitors check out just a page or two before they leave... even that that's a high percentage of visitors.
